Library specialized in the history of Science and Technology

Description

The Alexandre-Koyré Center Library is specialized in contemporary documents on the history, philosophy, sociology, and anthropology of Science and Technology, from the 16th century to the present, in France, Europe and worldwide. Holdings include over 27,000 documents (books, theses, offprints, catalogues and bibliographies) and 1,500 old books and periodicals. The library subscribes to 38 academic journals (issues available from 2005 forward), and also holds collections of rare and old books as well as the personal archives of researchers and scientific historians. 

Lending terms


Loans are restricted to students and researchers from the Alexandre-Koyré Center.
Authorized users may borrow up to 10 documents at a time.
The length of loans varies depending on the type of user and document:
Books:

  • Researchers from the Alexandre-Koyré Center : 7 weeks
  • Master's students from the Alexandre-Koyré Center : 3 weeks
  • Basic and essential reference works in the history of sciences: 15 days 

Periodicals:

  • Researchers from the Alexandre-Koyré Center : 3 weeks
  • Master's students from the Alexandre-Koyré Center : 1 week
