EHESS Raymond Aron Center for Sociology and Political Studies Library (CESPRA)
EHESS Raymond Aron Center for Sociology and Political Studies Library

Description

The Raymond Aron Center for Sociology and Political Studies (CESPRA) Library is specialized in political history, sociology and philosophy. Holdings comprise general works, documentary collections, works by great classical authors, as well as (historian of the French Revolution) François Furet's personal library of some 3,200 volumes. The library is organized in 3 collections:

  • Political philosophy and sociology
  • The French Revolution
  • The Alexis de Tocqueville collection

The library's catalogue is accessible on-line via the Babylone union catalogue, thanks to a partnership with the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme foundation. The library joined the SUDOC catalogue in 2006 and is progressively contributing its bibliographic entries to the system.

The library is also home to archives devoted to Raymond Aron: books and articles by Aron and articles and academic publications about Raymond Aron.
